Potted Primrose with Nancy Sheads of Rowhouse Greetings!

Tuesday was class day for me!  Nancy from Rowhouse Greetings had three wonderful cards for us featuring Potted Primrose from Power Poppy.  Power Poppy has some really unique designs and I encourage you to pop over and take look.

I have to tell you, I really enjoy taking classes with Nancy. Even if I may not be crazy about a card, or the card may not be my "style" I still always learn something. There is also the opportunity to meet and chat with fellow artists. Spending time with people who love to do what I love to do is an added bonus!

Now! onto the good stuff:

Frozen Fellowship

Good Afternoon! from chilly Annapolis.

Frozen Fellowship is the name of the stamp set I colored last Thursday in my class at Photoscraps with Nancy Sheads of Row House Greetings. Frozen Fellowship also describes the day, as it was a super cold day with friends!

We started three cards in class, (I had to slip out early to pick up my hubby from the airport) and I have two to show you. Only two, you ask? Yup! I totally screwed one up at home.

I love the classes where we not only practice our copic skills, but ones where we create a background and use fun new products.

The backgrounds on these were done by blending Tim Holtz Distress Oxides to make the gradient blue green shade.  We used three colors: Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, and Cracked Pistachio. Blending was done with a Nuvo blending sponge. (For you make-up people, they look just like those foam rubber foundation blenders!) The first base was then stamped with Hero Arts Hand Drawn Snowflake Bold stamp and  Versamark, then heat embossed with white embossing powder. My goofed up one was also done that way.  My second card was done by using Tailored Expressions Snow Flurry stencil and Nuvo Glimmer paste in Moonstone.  Fun stuff!

I take classes with Nancy at both Photoscraps in Eldersburg, MD and The Queen's Ink in Savage, MD.  if you are in the area and are interested these are both awesome stores.

This is the third card!  Colored wonderfully by my friend Ramsey, who graciously let me use her photo!

I hope you all are staying warm, and creating a lot!

Long Time No See!

Hi Everyone.

As you can see I have taken a little, ok looonng break from blogging.  Let me tell you why....

First off I travel with my husband when I can, and generally we are away at least once a month. The Holiday Season was very busy for us, as we were lucky enough to be able to sail around the British Virgin Islands the week prior to Christmas.  Let me tell you, it was fabulous!
the sky and water almost look fake!
Secondly, I have been focusing on my Copic coloring skills.  As you know I went to Copic Boot Camp in October. I learned so much and found that my favorite part of card making, aside from mailing them out to make a smile really is the coloring! My mantra for the last couple of months has been Practice, Practice Practice!

I think my practice skills are coming along!
Thirdly, I have discovered SO many wonderful stamping companies whose products I love. Don't get me wrong, I love Stampin' Up! I just don't want to be limited to them.  For now I will continue to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. But, will be using and showing items from other companies. I will provide you with links to those products also.

I will continue to show you the cards I am making and selling in my Etsy Shop.

I hope you all will continue to come back and check what I have been doing and use it as inspiration for your own creations. That said.......  Thanks to all of YOU! Go, be creative and don't forget:
Touch Means SO Much
