Spotlight on Retiring Items Part Four...

Today I am featuring Bird Banter. I have to say I really šŸ’™šŸ’š this one,
and will be keeping it for future use.
It will have a spot here on my Retired shelf!

The link under the picture will take you right to my Online Store šŸ˜‰.

This one also is really versatile. The sentiments in the set will allow you to create cards for many different occasions. Personally I see Belated Birthday, Birthday, Friendship, Thank You, even Anniversary! The various birds make this one a really FUN set. They can be colored and adorned in a array of ways. My favorite is using the Blends to create shading, texture and depth to them.

Spotlight on Retiring Items Part Three...

Todays spotlight is on the Lovely Wishes stamp set
and Designer Series Paper, Fresh Florals.
The link under each will take you directly to my Online store!

The Occasions catalog had three gorgeous samples and also reminded you that you can stamp on vellum paper! I love including vellum into my cards. It is really simple to carefully use the Heat Tool and set the ink so it does not smear.

Here are my quick and easy samples of these two items!

I thought that was very fitting!

Doesn't this just make your heart happy? I know it does mine!

Spotlight on Retiring Items Part Two

Todays spotlight is on A Mother's Flair stamp set and two Designer Series papers: Petal Passion and Naturally Eclectic. The link under each picture will take you directly to the Online Store.

This is a very versatile set. The Occasions catalog featured it as a Mother's Day card set but I did all my samples as Birthday. I do think that the sentiment stamp that says "You make Motherhood look so Good" could totally be used as a card for a new Mom! The Naturally Eclectic paper has really vibrant colors and coordinates with the retiring In Colors. While the Petal Passion is black and white, you can add color to it. Either directly on the paper, or like I did by using bright card stock with it to add a pop!

Remember, these are ALL retiring items. If you like them, PLEASE go and order them now while they are still available.

Here are my four samples!

The Birthday Party Project

When you are a card maker you often end up with a surplus of cards! Imagine!  A few months ago I saw a news blurb about a company called The Birthday Party Project. They along with volunteers and donations host monthly birthday bashes at homeless and transitional living facilities all across the country. This seemed like such a wonderful idea to me, what kid does not like a party and a gift and a card....see where I am heading? So I went ahead and contacted them about donating cards. They were thrilled! I went about gathering extra birthday cards I had and also enlisted some of my Top Dog stampin' friends. I am excited to say that this:

is the first of what I hope will be many packages I send to this caring group.

Their mission statement really touched my heart.

Take a look at the number of smiles!

It really seemed to go with my own mission statement of
Touch Means SO Much

Check out the happiness.

Things I will do for my Sister, and my Nieces!

My Sisters youngest, Paige is getting married this Summer!
I am so excited.
We don't all get together often enough and my Sister and I are wearing fascinators, like The Royals!
My Mom loved to follow the Royal Family, and she would be eating this up.

So, onto my real reason for this post.
I am thrilled that my Sister asked me to make the invitations for the Bridal Shower.
Paige is having a country themed wedding,
so Eileen ( that's my Sister) sent me this photo:
and asked if I could do something along this idea.

SO I did!

I will be switching the jar color to Night of Navy.
The cards will be a single sheet with all the details of the shower on the back
like this:
NOW, I need to go make 50 of these suckers!

In the meantime, here are the elements that went into this card:

The stamp set is Jar of Love and framelit set Everyday Jars. These are both current items that will carry over in the new catalog.

The base of the card is  Papertrey Vintage Cream paper (I needed a rustic color).
The next two layers are Night of Navy card stock and Wood Textures DSP.

I added a doilie and the mason jar stamped with Night of Navy ink, onto Vellum paper and some linen thread as an accent.

The doilie was antiqued by adding some Crumb Cake ink with a sponge.

The flowers are stamped in Powder Pink and Calypso Coral ink.

The leaves were stamped in Garden Green ink and they were all cut with the framelits on my Big Shot.

The sentiment was stamped from a retired set, called A Dozen Thoughts, in Night of Navy and the shape was punched with the Classic Label Punch.

The jar was attached using mini glue dots and the punched out shape was added with mini stampin' dimensionals

The larger pieces were attached with this tape runner from Simon Says Stamp. It has been my go to since Stampin' Up! discontinued fast fuse.
